2026: Fill rate hits a 4-year low
Podiatric residency positions are increasingly going unfilled. The CASPR fill rate dropped from 95.3% in 2024 to 87.9% in 2026 — with 68 unfilled positions, more than double 2024's count of 27.
…but 100% of the Class of 2026 placed in residencies
Despite the falling match fill rate, applicant placement is universal. AACPM's final report for the cycle places 501 of 501 Class of 2026 applicants (100.0%), and 513 of 513 across all classes. The applicant-side outcome ends up far rosier than the position-side fill rate.
